IPL 2019 Official Prize Money: Full List of Awards and Trophies –¬†IPL 2019 official schedule is out and the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League will start from 23rd March 2019. In last month’s IPL 2019 auctions, we saw only 60 players get sold and the majority of the players remained unsold. In this article, we will talk about IPL 2019 official prize money.

There were all the speculations regarding IPL 2019 venue being outside India and all but BCCI has put all the assumptions to rest and have ensured that the complete IPL 2019 will take place in India.

IPL 2019 Official Prize Money

Although, the IPL 2019 official prize money hasn’t been revealed yet but it is said that it will be somewhere around $ 8-10 Million. IPL winner prize money 2018 was $ 8 Million and it is expected to get a hike in amount this season.

The distribution of prize money will remain the same. The 50% of the prize money will be distributed among the players and the rest 50% will be distributed among the team owners and others.

IPL 2019 Full List of Awards, Prize Money and Trophies

Individual Match Awards

1. Man of the Match (League Matches)

A total amount of Rupees 1 Lakh is given to the best player of the match who has contributed remarkably through bat or bowl and helps the team win the game. A Man of the match cheque is given by the franchise owner, a representative of the sponsor of the franchise. The selection of the player is based on the likes of the match viewers and the television commentary team.

2. Man of the Match (Playoff Matches)

In Playoff Matches, a whopping amount of Rs. 5 Lakhs cheque is given to the player which has performed the best in the match. The check is usually given by any BCCI official based on the likes of match viewers and selected by the television commentary team.

3. VIVO IPL Best Catch of the Match

A prize money cheque of Rs 1 Lakh with a trophy and a VIVO Phone is awarded to the player who has picked the best catch of the match. The winner is selected according to the first choice of the spectators.

4. YES Bank Maximum Sixes

A cheque of Rs 1 Lakh and a trophy is given to the player who has smashed the most number of sixers in an IPL match. The check is given by a representative of the YES Bank. In case of 2 players with equal sixes the winner would be the player who has hit the longest Yes Bank maximum.

5. Orange Cap

Orange Cap is given to the best batsman of the tournament. The player who has scored the most run in the entire tournament. Although, the cap is provided from the very first match but the real winner is decided at the end of the tournament.

6. Purple Cap

Purple Cap is given to the best bowler of the tournament. The player who has picked the most number of wickets is crowned with the purple cap. It only varies from match to match but the real winner is crowned at the end of the tournament.

Season Awards

1. Pitch and Ground Awards

A prize money of Rs. 50 Lakhs along with a trophy is given to the stadium which has hosted 7 or more matches and the stadium which has hosted less than 7 matches is given Rs. 25 lakhs and a trophy.

2. VIVO Perfect Catch of the season

A cheque of Rs. 10 Lakh along with a trophy and a VIVO Phone is presented to the player who has caught the best catch of the season on the basis of likes of spectators and match viewers in the season. The award is presented by the VIVO authorities.

3. YES Bank Maximum Season Award

A cheque of Rs. 10 Lakhs and a trophy is given to the player who has hit the most number of sixes in an IPL season by the YES Bank representatives.

4. Vodafone Super Fast Fifty

A cheque of Rs. 10 lakhs and a trophy is given to the player who has scored the fastest fifty of the season by the Vodafone representatives.

5. FBB Stylish Player of the season

This award is given to the most stylish player of the season in terms of a combination of looks, dressing, attitude, calmness, body language, and fair play. During the match Commentators keeps an eye on each and every player on the ground and on the basis of their performance they are given points and the player with the most points at the end of the tournament is given a cheque of Rs. 10 Lakhs.

6. Vitara Brezza Glam Shot of the Season

An award called “Vitara Brezza Glam Shot of the season” is given to the player with the most stylish, unique, admirable cricket shot during the season. Winner will be determined on the basis of a combination of votes from the fans and the commentators. A cheque of Rs. 10 Lakhs is awarded to the winner at the end of the tournament.

7. Emerging Player Award

This award is given by the BCCI to the player who has performed the best throughout the tournament and has proven that he could be the rising star in the international cricket in near future. The winner gets prize money of Rs. 10 Lakhs. But there are conditions for the players to win this award.

1. The player should have born after 1 April 1991

2. Have played 5 or fewer Test matches

3. Played in 25 or less IPL matches

8. Most Valuable Player (MVP)

This award is given by the BCCI to the player who has earned the most MVP points throughout the tournament. MVP points = player who take wickets, hit sixes, dot ball, catches, fielding, stumps, player with overall consistent performances is awarded with MVP award and a cheque of Rs. 10 Lakhs.

IPL 2019 Winner Prize Money Amount

1. Runner Up Cheque

The team that gets into the finals of the IPL and didn’t win, the runners up of the IPL gets a whopping amount in runner up award of Rs. 10 Crore. It is expected to increase in the IPL 2019.

2. Winner Prize Money amount

This is the IPL winner prize money 2018. The winners of the IPL gets the massive amount of Rs. 15 crore as the IPL 2019 official prize money amount. It is also expected to get a hike in the upcoming edition of the IPL in 2019.
