Strengths of Mumbai Indians Team in IPL 2018:
With the likes of skipper Rohit Sharma, Flickr Jasprit Bumrah and destroyer Hardik Pandya being retained in Mumbai Indians during the IPL 2018 player retentions, Mumbai Indians furthermore strengthened their monster core by retaining Krunal Pandya and Keiron Pollard the monstrous All-rounders. MI has an undisputed line-up of all-rounders like Keiron Pollard, JP Duminy, Ben Cutting and Pandya Brothers which can destroy any team at any given place. Addition of overseas players like Mustafizur Rahman, Ben Cutting, and Evin Lewis gives them an edge that they had been craving for. Mumbai has one of the best squad in IPL 2018 and they are the top contenders to win the tournament.
Mumbai Indians bowling line-up does not seem very impressive, although they do have a decent bowling squad with Jaspreet Bumrah, Pat Cummins, and Jason Behrendorff we still have to see how they hold up against the most intimidating opponents in the tournament. The spin department is weak for Mumbai as they have no big names in the squad. They brought Akila but don’t think so he will get a game as many as they can have only 4 overseas players in the playing eleven.
It is very much a possibility that the existing and defending IPL champions Mumbai Indians could work their magic this time as well, they are already three times winners more than any other team and considering their previous year’s performance, there is no doubt that the star-studded team is still hungry and not settling for anything less than the prestigious IPL title. The team has a great balance of tremendous batting squad in addition to the world-class All-rounders like Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Keiron Pollard and quality seamers like Jasprit Bumrah, Pat Cummins and Mustafizur Rahman. If Mumbai shows even a little bit of enthusiasm as the last time, it would be extremely hard for the other teams to put a stop to them.
Mumbai Indians just have to work on their bowling department a bit to overcome some issues that could make their journey difficult in the further stages of the tournament. Could Mumbai Indians become the IPL 2018 champions yet another time? Only time will tell, but we wish Mumbai Indians best of luck and hope for their good performance in the IPL 2018.
