1. Mumbai Indians
Nobody would be surprised with Mumbai Indians entry here. They are only the most complete team in the IPL history. Amongst the most successful teams in the IPL history and the only team to have won IPL title 3 times other than Chennai Super Kings.
They were one of the strongest contenders last year before Chennai sabotaged their plans and they could still win their 4th title this year. They make sure of that in the auctions. They have a great squad in form of retained players and the players they bought in the IPL 2019 auctions.
Mr Hitman Rohit Sharma leads the Blue squad. They got Lasith Malinga back and added the powerhouse, Yuvraj Singh, as well. They also traded Quinton de Kock from the RCB before the IPL 2019 auctions.
In addition to them, their squad already has Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Keiron Pollard, Jasprit Bumrah and with all these powerhouses their squad looks pretty formidable.
They have immense talent and experience along to win the trophy like they have done before as a unit. If everything goes there way, they could win the IPL 2019 trophy this year.
2. Chennai Super Kings
Chennai Super Kings is arguably the most successful team in IPL history while taking into consideration that they were banned from playing 2 seasons. They have been the most dominant side and could have been more successful it not banned for 2 years.
Well, their greatness can be judged by the fact that they made a comeback last year and won the title. Guided by one of the greatest captains of this century, MS Dhoni, the yellow squad is a complete unit which knows what to do to become successful.
Their main strength lies in their core squad which is also arguably the best core group in the IPL. MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo, Shane Watson, Harbhajan Singh, Faf Du Plessis and Ravindra Jadeja. When you have a squad like this you don’t need many players. That’s why they didn’t add any big names to their squad this year.
Although, they don’t need and wouldn’t sign any big names but they still brought back Mohit Sharma for Rs. 5 crore.
So, this squad is pretty awesome, right? A perfect lineup with quality bench strength. Chennai like always, this year too is going to be very hard to beat. Their chances of winning are probably more than any other and they could do it twice in a row.

3. Sunrisers Hyderabad
Sunrisers Hyderabad was the best team in the IPL 2018, even better than CSK, arguably. They have already won the title once in 2016, they reached all the way to the finals last year and this year they could probably lift the trophy for the second time.
Now, that their biggest trump card David Warner (after sustaining a year ban from all form of international cricket) is back in the squad, their chances doubled this year.
And with Kane Williamson as captain, Manish Pandey, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan and Shakib Al Hasan in their squad, they will surely give any opponent a run for their money.
Plus they won the auctions race this year. They bought Martin Guptill (Rs 1 Crore), Wriddhiman Saha ( Rs 1.2 Crore) and Jonny Bairstow (Rs 2.2 Crore) in the IPL 2019 auctions.
Their coaching and training staff is legendary with VVS Laxman, Muttiah Muralitharan and many others included in the coaching staff.
If they work as a team and compliment each other’s talents, they can take on any team on any turf. On a complete note, they are even better than CSK and if everything goes right, they could possibly lift the trophy for the 2nd time this year.
These teams have all proved that they are amongst the strongest in the last few years in terms of persistence, consistency and superior gameplay. They have been either the champions or the runner-ups. Although, only the time will decide which team will win the IPL 2019.
